Claire has had a really bad rash that covers her head to toe for about a month. Her skin was so dry that it would feel like sand paper even after I put on ucerin. She would scratch herself until she bled. We got her into the dermatologist yesterday (finally!!) and it turns out that it's just her eczema, but it has developed into a more serious problem. It was so bad that the doctor took bacteria cultures to make sure it wasn't infected. So they put her on five medications that will last about two months. If it's infected she will have to go on anti-biotics as well. We have to apply a topical steroid twice a day, along with a foam for her scalp. She also has to take an strong anti-histamine along with Zyrtec. I feel so bad for her because she's like a little zombie all day. The meds make her so drowsy!! But at least she sleeps well during nap time and through the night. I can't complain about that. We also have to wash her clothes in dye free/scent free laundry soap and fabric softener, we can't use dryer sheets, and she can't take baths anymore. We are aloud to give her a short shower twice a week. We put the topical steroid on last night and we can already see a huge difference. The pictures below are from this morning. It looks bad, but it was much worse last night. Those little spots covered almost every inch of her body.

Oohhh, I hate stuff like that. Poor Claire. Poor you guys. It is no fun having any kind of glitch in your child's regular health. Sounds like a stressful time. I hope that the meds take care of it and that this isn't something she's going to have to deal with on a regular basis. Good luck!
p.s. She is still dang cute covered in spots!
